The Company
Albert
Europe is
an Italian company that works in the recycling and reclamation business
since 1999. During this time, Albert Europe has updated its operation to
stay ahead of ever-changing technologies and environmental regulations,
according to the so called Decreto Ronchi stated by the Italian Government
on 1997..
With
the growth of the electronics industry as well as the introduction of the
computer, the volume and complexity of electronics has increased
significantly. The more recent explosive growth of the personal computer
and related chip technology spawned a secondary market for resalable and
reusable circuit chips. In anticipation of this trend, Albert Europe
was established to recover and resell usable chips. As a consequence of
this growth, environmental regulations continue to become stricter for
both the manufacturer, as well as the user and recycler.
Many large
corporate users are also taking an environmentally proactive role in the
disposition of their company's physical assets. We believe that
environmental scrutiny will continue to grow and will eventually mirror
and exceed many of the more restrictive regulations now in force in other
countries. We also believe that this regulatory concept may also be
extended in one form or another to consumers. In addition, as
manufacturers continually become more efficient, they have recognized the
need and merits of managing their excess assets and obsolete products. In
anticipation of these trends, Albert Europe was established. A
complete and total circle of recycling is achieved thank to others
associated companies, which results in better returns to our customers with complete and
uniform environmental integrity and control.
Albert
Europe
is the starting point along the asset recovery pipeline. Upon receipt,
material is weighed and logged for control purposes, and is then evaluated
for its best path of recovery. This evaluation will take into account the
best method to maximize recovered value, and will also consider the
customer's desire to have equipment or components destroyed rather than
remarketed.
Initial
disassembling is then completed and any material that contains integrated
circuits is processed for recovery. The remaining material is then further
evaluated for recovery. Items such as computers, telephone equipment, test
equipment, monitors, memories, that can be sold for its original intended
use is identified and marketed. Non-working or non-repairable equipment is
evaluated for its component parts such as hard drives, cooling fans,
keyboards, mice, monitors, casters, etc. and the individual component
material is marketed. Remaining material is further de-manufactured into
its lowest marketable level (e.g.-base metals, plastics, cardboard, etc)
and is sold into commodity markets. Ultimately, the results from all the
recovery streams are summarized and issued in an easy to read settlement
statement to our customers.
